PLAINS TRAVELING DART LEAGUE
GENERAL RULES / 2010-2011
1. Boundaries of the Plains Traveling Dart
League are:
2. Maximum number of teams per establishment in
league is based on # of boards to
accommodate teams.
3. Each team is required 1 representative at
scheduled meetings.
4. Each team is allowed 1 vote.
5. If an establishment misses 2 consecutive
scheduled meetings, they forfeit their turn to host a scheduled meeting.
6. The PTDL shoots and eight (8) person OPEN
roster. - 4 man teams - 80% handicap.
(60% in “A” division.) A team may
drop a shooter to add another shooter. A
dropped shooter cannot shoot in the PTDL for remainder of season, must pay as a
guest to attend clambake, and will not qualify for individual awards. Score sheet must be documented with dropped
shooter and replacement shooter’s name the day of add/drop.
7. Each match will consist of four (4) points
in the league standings. One point for
each game plus one point for total points.
Shoot 10th frame if tied for total points.
8. There is a 15 minute grace period for the
first game. All teams must have four (4)
players to start the match. If a team
has less than 4 players by the end of the grace period, the first game is
forfeited. The second game must start by
8:00 or that game is forfeited. After
8:15 all 4 games are forfeited.
9. If you forfeit any game of a 3 game match,
you also forfeit total points.
10. Any team with 2 forfeits in one season is out
of the league for 1 year.
11. Wood dart boards are the only boards
authorized by the league.
12. The dart board is to be situated 5 feet 3
inches from the floor to the center of the eye.
The toe board should be at least 48 inches in length and 7’ 3” to toe board.
A. No one may sit between the toe board
and dart board peripherally.
13. Widdy is the official dart o the league.
14. Darts are to be called before they are pulled
from the board.
15. In case of a challenge, the shooter behind
the next shooter must call the darts.
16. The eye is shot before every game to
determine the order in which the game is shot.
Bull tops bull.
17. Home team has advantage of choosing who
shoots eye first, winner of 1st game has advantage for 2nd etc..
18. A player is given three (3) practice darts to
start the match. No darts should be shot
at or above the 1st frame.
Practice shots are 1st game only, unless new shooter.
19. Any player involved in a match cannot
practice on any board between frames of an ongoing match. Any player not shooting the game can practice
on any board as long as in doesn’t interfere with the match in progress.
20. Split wire favors the shooter.
21. Players are allowed to step over the line
after releasing their dart, but may not walk up to th board or may not call
their own darts.
22. No foul language, obscenities, or fighting
during matched. Team will forfeit games
and be banned from league for 1 year.
23. No disturbing the shooter - after 1st
warning the match will be forfeited.
24. Each team is responsible for their own $15.00
weekly dues being delivered to the treasurer.
25. A minimum of 30 games is required to qualify
for individual awards.
26. A copy of the rules of the PTDL must be
available for viewing at every match.
27. Trophies -- at league’s discretion
28. Playoffs -- at league’s discretion
29. If circumstances prevail, such that a team
cannot play it’s regulat scheduled match, the two teams involved must set an
alternate date. (Which must be before the next scheduled match).
30. If you are not shooting on a scheduled
Monday, the secretary must be notified so you will not be charged late score
sheet fee.
31. If a shooter leaves a game before 9 frames
are shot, that shooter gets a blank (0) for the remaining frames. (unless an
emergency.)
32. Twenty-one (21) games needed to shoot in
playoffs, and eighteen (18) games needed to attend end-of-year- clambake.
33. If any player shoots in playoffs without
required 21 games, all 4 games are forfeited.
34. A team sponsor in the PTDL may hold an office
without being on a roster.
DUES and FINES
35. Franchise fee is $25.00 and Good faith is
$25.00 per team. Payable to treasurer
before season starts.
36. Each team is responsible for $15.00 weekly
dues. (See rule # 24).
37. Any team that forfeit’s a match will loosed
their good faith money and must replace it.
Monies owed the league (tickets, dues, forfeits, missed meetings etc.)
must be paid to the treasurer before the next scheduled games. (See rule #40)
38. All teams must participate in league
fund-raisers.
39. Each team from an establishment will be fined
$5.00 for a missed meeting if there is not a rep. present for the team. This money will be given to the treasurer and
then paid to the establishment hosting the meeting.
40. No team will shoot a scheduled match if they
fall behind by $50.00
ROSTERS and SCORE SHEETS
41. All shooters who have established avg. (3+
games) from the PTDL will use that avg. in subsequent year until a new average
is established. A shooter without a PTDL
avg. must shoot for avg.
42. Original score sheets must be sent to league
secretary from the home team. The
original score sheet along with a fee of $5.00 should reach the secretary by 8
pm the Wednesday immediately following dart night.
43. The home team is responsible to make a copy
of score sheet. Original sent to
secretary and copy to stay at bar.
44. If visiting team wants a copy of score sheet,
it must be requested before shooting begins.
45. No individual under the age of twenty-one
(21) is permitted on any roster.
46. A player must remain on the roster of the
team for which he played his first game.
47. There will be a $5.00 penalty for late score
sheets. (See rule #42).
48. Score sheets should be accessible to a rep.
from each team during all matches.
